In the shopping world you generally have a couple of options. You can go with Walmart/Kmart/ big box store design or you can go with The little neighborhood store. The Big Box store will have pretty much whatever you're looking for (although, be prepared to wander) whereas the the little neighborhood store may or may not have what you want. To the Big Box store you're just a person cruising through and spending some money. To the Mom & Pop you're a person. You're a person who they may know, you can have a conversation, the whole experience makes you feel more alive as a person.
PornLiving.com gives more of the neighborhood feel to porn review site rather than the colder walmart big box store feel. Some of the reviews tend to have a paragraph or two about what the reviewer likes, or what is going on in his life. You know when he's taken a month off of doing reviews and you genuinely understand when he likes or dislikes a site. This is truly the strength of the site.
Because it is more like a mom and pop shop the site is at the mercy of the lead reviewer. This review of the site is being done o 8/15/08 and as of today the PornLiving hasn't had an update since 6/17/2008. In a day and age where people are looking for a daily fix (heck, in some cases folks want new content EVERY HOUR) two months maybe a bit much.
The site does feature a pretty updated forum section. BUT the section of the site seems to have been over run with advertisers trying to lure you to their sites. That can be good but on the other hand people traditionally come to forums to talk with each other not to talk to a marketing rep. The reviews are all well written. You get a a sense of the site. There could be a bit more analytical information but that's more for the true video and pictorial snobs.
Overall this is a fair site. The casual feel of the site is pretty nice. The lack of updates really hurt the overall though. For those that look to porno review sites as daily entertainment may need to seek out other sites but for those that just want a porn review site for what it was intended for, to give you a look into whether or not to buy a site Porn Living will fit the bill.
